Allows legacy DIN5 accessories to be used with modern EtherCAT-equipped machines.

Connect legacy accessories to modern machines with the Accessory Adapter Kit, DIN5 Male to M12 Female. Designed to bridge older DIN5-connected accessories and newer EtherCAT-equipped machine controls, this adapter helps protect your investment by extending the usability of older probing and toolsetting accessories.

Machines released after 2024 (currently the 1500MX, 770MX and 15LX) use standard M12 connectors for accessory inputs. These inputs are 24V PNP signals. Previously released machines use a DIN5 connector with 5V-12V NPN input signals.

This adapter provides the 5V and 12V power pins required to operate older accessories on the DIN5 port and converts the NPN signal to a 24V PNP signal compatible with modern machines.

The 55506 adapter cannot plug directly into the M12 connector on the machine's cabinet. You will need one of the following Y-splitters to provide seperate M12 input connectors for the probe and ETS signals:

If your machine supports wireless probing: The 55506 adapter plugs into the "54753 Wired Probe / ETS Adapter Cable". This Y cable splits the 11-pin wireless probe connector into two M12 connectors (one for probe, one for ETS). To use a legacy probe and a legacy ETS simultaneously you will need 1x 54753 cable and 2x 55506 DIN5 to M12 adapters.

If your machine does not support wireless probing: Machines without wireless probing support (currently only the 440M) require the "51352 Y-Splitter, M12 Male to 2x M12 Female" cable. This splits the two inputs on the machine's M12 accessory connector out into two seperate connectors (one for probe, one for ETS). To use a legacy probe and a legacy ETS simultaneously you will need 1x 51352 cable and 2x 55506 DIN5 to M12 adapters.

It is fine to mix and match DIN5 and M12 accessories on the same splitter. For example, a legacy DIN5 passive probe could be used alongside a modern M12 wired ETS using 1x 55506 DIN5 to M12 adapter.
