How to Read a Spindle Motor Torque, Power, and Duration Chart
Optimizing your machining processes is essential for achieving the best performance from your equipment. Among the various factors that contribute to this optimization is understanding how to read and use a spindle motor torque, power, and duration chart.
This guide will help you navigate these charts, ensuring you make informed decisions for your machining operations.
HIGH SPEED, LOW FOOTPRINT
The 770MX’s 2 HP, 10,000 RPM spindle delivers exceptional performance for small-scale machining without the overhead of a larger industrial mill. Its high-speed capability ensures smooth finishes and efficient cutting with smaller tools, making it ideal for precision parts and prototypes.
This balance of speed and manageable horsepower translates into a cost-effective solution for makers, educators, and small businesses. You can get professional-grade results at an affordable price and compact footprint, making advanced CNC technology more accessible than ever.

COMPARING THE 770M VS 770MX?
The main differences between the Tormach 770M and 770MX mills lie in their electronics, spindle taper, and axis motors.
First, the 770MX is a 240V machine offering significantly more power and speeds than the 770M which runs on 120V.
The 770M is powered by stepper motors for axis motion, uses an R8 spindle with a 3/4 inch straight shank collet for TTS tool systems, and can be purchased with or without an enclosure, chip tray, or stand.
The 770MX uses a BT30 spindle, features servo axis motion, and an encoded spindle for rigid tapping. It has faster rapid speeds, includes the large touchscreen operator console, and comes standard with the full enclosure.
