HOW TO READ A SPINDLE MOTOR TORQUE, POWER, AND DURATION CHART

Optimizing your machining processes is essential for achieving the best performance from your equipment. Among the various factors that contribute to this optimization is understanding how to read and use a spindle motor torque, power, and duration chart.

This guide will help you navigate these charts, ensuring you make informed decisions for your machining operations.

Explore stories from real-world users who are pushing boundaries, solving challenges, and redefining possibilities with the 1500MX.

"What we are most excited about with the 1500MX mill is the tool changer with the BT30 high-quality spindle. We have already seen cycle times shorten and combined with the rapids, it has shaved significant time off of parts. The extra coolant flushing of the chips has also saved us a few hours of cleanup already. And our employees have noted how nice it is to not have to re-reference and touch tools and datum points off each morning which saves even more time each day.

I expect the 1500MX to take over a large percentage of the millwork we have, leaving our 1100M for more onesie twosie orders and prototype parts. I am sure as time goes by we will add more to this list. We are absolutely loving this machine!"

Larry Britzman, Owner, Britzman Enterprises LLC

"We are most excited about the speed, power, and automation the 1500MX brings to both our prototyping and production abilities. It is exciting to see how quickly it can create the parts we designed. And it feels powerful being able to send the program to the machine, hit go, and watch it make what we need without needing to assist it in any way."

Keegan Karl, Vice President at DarkAero Inc.

"We needed a machine that was always available for R&D and fixture creation—something capable and reliable, not just a mediocre option. Tormach gave us that flexibility, along with the ability to dial in our tooling and workholding exactly the way we wanted."

John Saunders, NYC CNC

Precision Meets Power: Machining Stainless and Titanium with 1500MX

Tormach’s Product Manager tested the 1500MX CNC mill to optimize cutting strategies for 304 stainless steel. By adjusting speeds, feeds, and toolpaths, with a focus on spindle load, he increased chip load and cutting efficiency while preserving tool life and machine stability. The results of this video show that the 1500MX is well-suited for stainless steel machining.

Titanium is tough, but the Tormach 1500MX CNC mill handles it with confidence. Using pre-worn tools and conservative speeds, we tested its performance on Grade 23 titanium—and the results were impressive. Clean finishes, stable cutting loads, and smooth chip evacuation prove the 1500MX is ready for serious material challenges.

Mastering 304 Stainless Steel on the 1500MX

Looking to tackle 304 stainless steel on your Tormach 1500MX CNC mill? It’s no secret that this material can be tough and prone to work-hardening, but with the right approach, you can achieve impressive results.

In this video, Tormach Product Manager, Tom Zelickman, walks through his cutting strategies to help you tackle this tough material. From dialing in speeds and feeds to optimizing toolpaths, Tom shares real-world tips to get the most out of your machine.

Machining Industry Reacts to the Tormach 1500MX CNC Mill

"The 1500MX offers a host of features designed to enhance machining efficiency
and precision. Crafted with an epoxy granite frame made in the U.S., this machine
reportedly enables 10 times the damping of cast iron, providing chatter-free
cuts, superior surface finishes and 30% longer tool life."

"Tormach, a US-based manufacturer of CNC machines and industrial robotics, introduces its latest innovation: the Tormach 1500MX CNC Mill. Representing the apex of Tormach’s engineering prowess, the 1500MX marks a significant leap forward in power, precision, and affordability within their CNC machining portfolio”

"The 1500MX comes with a Made in the USA Epoxy Granite frame. This is a major departure from the earlier machines which were all cast iron, but it's a departure for the better. Epoxy Granite has 10X the damping of cast iron. It’s a quality that makes it the ideal choice on many high-end machines such as Datron’s machines."

"The Tormach 1500MX has been a game-changer for DarkAero as the new machine’s capabilities have drastically improved workflow, especially in terms of production readiness and precision."

PREPARING FOR 1500MX DELIVERY

When preparing for the delivery of a 1500MX milling machine, there are some important considerations.

Forklift/Loading Dock: A forklift or a loading dock is highly recommended to remove the 1500MX and accessories from the truck. If you are not comfortable running a forklift, we recommend that you hire a local rigging company to do this for you. Once the machine is in your space, a typical pallet jack may be used to move your machine into place.

Receiving door: Be sure to verify that you have a receiving door large enough to accommodate the crate your machine will be shipped in.
